ASPIRE program assists Mt. Scott students
with solid pathways beyond high school

Mt. Scott High School offers the ASPIRE (Access to Student assistance Programs In Reach of Everyone) program to provide students with solid pathways beyond high school. ASPIRE matches trainined community volunteers with high school students to provide one-on-one mentoring. ASPIRE advisors guide students through the process of applying for college, financial aid, and scholarships. ASPIRE serves students by:

  • Helping schools build a sustainable community of volunteer advisors
  • Educating students and families about the scholarship application process and other options for paying for postsecondary education
  • Providing advising, resources, and encouragement to help students access education and training beyond high school

ASPIRE serves the entire student body. By being inclusive, ASPIRE is more likely to reach those students who feel they cannot attain a postsecondary education and those who have not considered continuing their education beyond high school.

Aaron Balgoh is the ASPIRE coordinator at Mt. Scott. You can reach her at 503-771-8880 or by email at abalogh@mtscottlearningcenters.org.
