Aaron Balogh, Student Support & Outreach Coordinator

contact: abalogh@mtscottlearningcenters.org

Aaron has been with Mt. Scott for over six years.  In this time he has contributed to the development of a strong and supportive academic environment which values relationships and community building.  His work as a Social Studies instructor placed a high value on social justice, global and local citizenship, and critical thinking about ourselves and the world we live in.

As the Student Support and Outreach Coordinator, Aaron works to provide personal and academic support to students and families.  He believes every student has the capacity for success and works on behalf of each individual to inspire and support their growth.  Additionally, he works with community partners to provide exciting classroom and extracurricular activities such as The Pangaea Project, PlayWrite Inc., Salmon Watch, and Snowboard Outreach Society, among others.  Aaron co-teaches our Senior Transitions program with Megan Barrett to promote post-secondary success.

Prior to his career as an educator, Aaron worked with homeless youth in Portland, which he considers “the greatest city on the planet.”  In his free time he loves relaxing with a good book or graphic novel, bicycling, riding motorcycles, snowboarding, and anything related to music.

Aaron holds a Master’s degree in Education and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies.
