Aaron has a Master's degree in Education from Portland State University and has completed the Initial Administrator Licensure program at University of Portland. This is his fifth year teaching at Mt. Scott Middle School and fourth year as the Site Safety and Technology Coordinator. This year he will also be the liaison for the school's Campfire/Thrive program.

Prior to joining the staff at Mt. Scott, Aaron spent two years at another alternative school in Portland teaching a variety of subjects.

Aaron grew up in SE Portland and values the rich learning opportunities the community provides. His teaching is laden with cross-subject integration and opportunities for peer teaching. Aaron believes that each student can become an expert in any field they study if given the tools to do so.

Beyond his passion for teaching, Aaron is also an avid athlete. He regularly participates in local soccer and football pickup games. Additionally he was previously a semiprofessional dodgeball player and is a former Guinness world-record holder for kickball.
