Kyle Golphenee, Language Arts Teacher

Kyle has worked at Mt. Scott High School the past six years. In addition to his Language Arts duties, Kyle handles additional administrative tasks such as scheduling, testing, transcripts, and academic counseling. He is also the supervisor for Mt. Scott High School's annual Zine.

Kyle started his teaching career on the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana, where he taught middle school and high school Language Arts. After moving to Portland, Kyle worked at McCoy Academy Southeast for five years, functioning as lead teacher there for four years.

Kyle has a strong interest in music and poetry. His prime literary influences come from a bizarre combination of science fiction and Native American literature. In his spare time - when he's not walking his dog - Kyle is probably playing guitar, loading tunes into his iPod, or spending time with his wife.
