contact: lespineli@mtscottlearningcenters.org
Lorene teaches Math for the Senior Academies. In her classroom, she hopes to awaken one’s passion for math through various fun activities that can help students discover mathematics.
Born in Houston, Texas, Lorene grew up loving math and science in addition to playing softball, basketball, volleyball, swimming and soccer. She learned how to play the viola at the age of 11. This laid down the foundation for her current instrument of choice: DRUMS! In her free time she loves to camp, swim, ride her bike, read young adult novels, take pictures with her Holga camera, make art, and cook with friends.
Lorene has six years of experience of working with at-risk youth between her time in Austin, Texas and Portland, Oregon. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Math from the University of Texas and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Lewis & Clark.
