Megan Barrett, Language Arts Teacher

Megan began her work at Mt. Scott as the lead instructor for a part-time Credit Recovery program. She believes in creating a classroom community based on respect, consistency and communication. Megan also believes teaching and learning should be fun. She brings a passion for working with high school students to her classroom.

Prior to her teaching career, Megan worked as a cook in several restaurants in Portland. She quickly used that experience at Mt. Scott to teach an elective cooking class where students were forced to eat things they thought were tasty, but weird. In her free time, Megan enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, camping and music.

Megan holds a Master's degree in education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
