Eight Mt. Scott High School students volunteered on March 2, 2008 for the Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) pledge drive at OPB's television studio in Portland.
The students received training on how to record pledges before moving into the studio where they experienced behind the scenes television production. Answering telephones during the membership drive, students were broadcast on-air and helped OPB with its important fundraising effort.
Though the Mt. Scott volunteers were the youngest people at the event, the OPB crew praised the students' professionalism and dedication to community service.
