Troy is a Mathematics teacher at Mt. Scott High School who answers the questions like "Why do we have to learn Math?" and "When are we ever going to use this?" Instructing Mathematics as a language, appreciating the history and people of Math, and focusing on problem-solving techniques are key components to his classroom.

In addition to his career as an educator, Troy has a six-year-old daughter and enjoys playing soccer, reading, capoeira, music, gardening, cooking, anything outdoors and anything having to do with a Frisbee.  His heroes are Isaac Newton, Leonardo da Vinci, and Spiderman.

He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master's degree in Mathematics from Portland State University.
