Students reach out to homeless at Blanchet House

A group of Mt. Scott High School students and counselor Julie Convy visit the Blanchet House every Wednesday to help serve Portland's homeless community.

The Blanchet House has been serving meals and providing temporary lodging and job referral to Portland's homeless community since 1952. The Blanchet organization currently has four sites throughout the Portland area that give food, shelter, and most importantly, hope, to many individuals throughout the region.

Mt. Scott High School students assist other volunteer staff at the Blanchet House of Hospitality at 340 NW Glisan Street. The facility serves more than 1,200 meals every day to the hungry, and provides temporary housing for 32 people.
